Calculus BC Curriculum
Introduction to the Calculus BC Curriculum
The Calculus BC Curriculum is a comprehensive, college-level program that expands on concepts introduced in AP Calculus AB and dives deeper into advanced topics like parametric equations, polar coordinates, vector valued functions, and infinite sequences and series. This curriculum aligns with the AP Calculus BC exam description and helps students develop a strong command of differential and integral calculus through real-world problem solving and rigorous instruction.
Students will explore the Fundamental Theorem of Calculus, implicit differentiation, definite and indefinite integrals, and inverse trigonometric functions. They’ll also master power series, Taylor polynomials, slope fields, Euler’s Method, and advanced integration techniques, equipping them with the knowledge to solve complex motion problems, analyze slope fields, and interpret accumulation functions.
With an emphasis on correct notation, multiple representations, and mathematical conventions, this course builds the skills needed to confidently tackle the AP Calculus BC exam, while preparing students for college-level mathematics and STEM-related fields.

Preparing Students for Calculus and Beyond
Our AP Calculus BC course doesn’t just prepare students for the AP exam—it nurtures a deeper understanding of essential mathematical processes. With instruction covering the mean value theorem, intermediate value theorem, l’Hospital’s Rule, and contextual applications of differentiation and integration, students develop the critical thinking skills needed for success in advanced coursework and beyond.
From graphing calculator strategies on the multiple choice section to writing complete justifications in the free response section, students will learn to represent and solve problems using a variety of techniques. By covering concepts like the integral test, geometric series, and region bounded by curves, this curriculum offers a complete, AP-aligned experience that fully prepares students for success in college, careers, and life.
