Methods for Finding Multiples from a Math Tutor

The most common way to find multiples shared by a math tutor is to use multiplication. Multiplication of whole numbers always results in multiples of the numbers being multiplied. To find the first few multiples of 155, you could just multiply 155 by 1, then 2, then 3, and so on, until you have as many multiples as you would like. This is shown in the next section.

For younger students that don’t know how to multiply yet, the same result can be found just by counting, or skip-counting. To find multiples of any number, just add the number to itself multiple times. For instance, if you want to find the multiples of 155, start at 155 and keep adding 155 over and over: 155, 310, 465, 620, and so on. Each of these numbers is a multiple of 155.

There are an endless number of multiples! You can keep using either of these methods to find as many multiples as you would like.
