Let us begin by defining what a prime number is: a prime number is a number that is divisible by only itself and 1. Since we see that 1847 has only two factors, 1 and 1847, then we can come to the conclusion that 1847 is a prime number. Another way you can look at the problem is by the factors of 1847. By no coincidence, 1847’s factors are just 1 and 1847 (only just itself and 1), which is the definition of a prime number.
