Multiples of 301

Multiples of 301 are any number that can be divided by 301 without any remainder. In other words, any number that can be split into multiple 301s, without anything extra. Another way to understand multiples is to compare them to counting an object. For instance, I may have one ball, or I may have six balls, but I can’t have 3 and a half balls.

Methods

Methods for Finding Multiples:

The most common way to find multiples is to use multiplication. Multiplication of whole numbers always results in multiples of the numbers being multiplied. To find the first few multiples of 301, you could just multiply 301 by 1, then 2, then 3, and so on, until you have as many multiples as you would like. This is shown in the next section.

For younger students that don’t know how to multiply yet, the same result can be found just by counting, or skip-counting. To find multiples of any number, just add the number to itself multiple times. For instance, if you want to find the multiples of 301, start at 301 and keep adding 301 over and over: 301, 602, 903, 1204, and so on. Each of these numbers is a multiple of 301.

There are an endless number of multiples! You can keep using either of these methods to find as many multiples as you would like.
