When it comes to prime numbers, it’s best to learn about them through experience - so why not have a look and find out if any of these numbers are prime or not?
Prime numbers are numbers that can only be divisible by itself and 1. In this Thinkster article, find out if 1 is a prime number or a composite number by looking at it in different ways.
Let us begin by defining what a prime number is: a prime number is a number that is divisible by only itself and 1 (so only 2 factors - 1 and itself). Now, when it comes to the number 1, it falls in a special case because of the number of factors it has. Since we see that 1 has only one factor which is also 1, then we can come to the conclusion that 1 is not a prime number.
