This works because multiplying both the numerator and the denominator by the same number is like multiplying it by 1. (0.595 / 0.595 = 1)

Method 2 from a Tutor – Converting 1600/168 Into a Percentage Using Decimals:
Another common way to convert a fraction into a percentage is to first convert the fraction into a decimal. To convert 1600/168 into a percentage, you would first convert 1600/168 into a decimal by dividing the numerator by the denominator:
Once you have converted the fraction into a decimal, you can simply multiply by 100 to get the percentage:
9.524 x 100 = 952.381
And there you go! Now we can see that 1600/168 as a percentage is 952.381%, the same way we did with the first method.
