Do you worry about how to effectively help with Math homework?

A typical evening in my kitchen about six years back.  I have dinner on the stove, my daughter and I are bent over her fractions homework. I find errors on questions relating to reducing fractions.   I discover she is not fast enough at identifying common factors and as I continue to probe further I realize she needs to work faster on simple division facts.  I am frustrated that her basics are weak, I now need to find more practice questions for her to work on.

As I go to sleep it’s bearing in my mind that we need to do better than this.  I have printed out math worksheets from online sites, I have bought workbooks, we have done flashcards together but we need consistency and we need to know where we are going, what all has to get done.

Does this resonate with your struggles?
